Lessons from the Lab

You can learn a lot from a dog. 


Roger Caras said, “For me a house or an apartment becomes a home when you add one set of four legs, a happy tail, and that indescribable measure of love we call a dog.” 


We’d have to agree.


We brought our yellow Labrador, Juno, home with us, on Father’s Day of 2008. Little did we know that a small dog would effect big changes in our house; changes to our schedules and to our routines, changes to our priorities, and changes to our hearts and to what we thought we knew about...life. We’ve learned a thing or two from our dog. In fact, we facetiously refer to our lives pre-Juno with different B.C.s and A.D.s: ‘Before Canine’ and ‘After Dog’.


These golden biscuits of wisdom and intelligence we’ve learned from our dog are too good to keep to ourselves. And so, a short, 26-letter, life lessons list - from A to Z - from our dog, and us, to you.
