THE FIRST BOOK OF THE SURRENDER TRILOGY
In her sensational Breathless Trilogy, #1 New York Times bestselling author Maya Banks tested the boundaries of desire. In her new trilogy, there’s only one thing left to do: cross them. And never have the consequences of erotic exploration been so irresistibly inviting, so shockingly intimate, and so totally unexpected…
LETTING GO
Josslyn found perfection once, and she knows she’ll never find it again. Now widowed, she seeks the one thing her beloved husband couldn’t give her: dominance. Lonely, searching for an outlet for her grief and wanting only a brief taste of the perfection she once enjoyed, she seeks what she’s looking for at an exclusive club that caters to people indulging in their most hedonistic fantasies. She never imagined that what she’d find would be the one man who’s long been a source of comfort—and secret longing. Her husband’s best friend.
Dash has lived in an untenable position for years: in love with his best friend’s wife but unwilling to act on that attraction. He’d never betray his best friend. And so he’s waited in the wings, offering Joss unconditional support and comfort as she works past her grief, hoping for the day when he can offer her more.
When he finds her in a club devoted to the darker edges of desire, he’s furious because he thinks she has no idea what she’s getting herself into. Until she explains in detail what it is she wants. What she needs. As realization sets in, he is gripped by fierce, unwavering determination. If she wants dominance, he is the only man who will introduce her to that world. He is the only man who will touch her, cherish her…love her. And the only man she’ll ever submit to.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
In this fiery erotic trilogy launch, two lovers explore the heights of domination, submission, pain, and pleasure and find romance along the way. Three years after the sudden death of Joss Breckenridge s husband, Carson, Joss is ready to move on. Though their marriage was a happy one, Carson could never be the dominant she d always dreamed of submitting to. Now she wants to seek a dominant lover and see whether reality can live up to her fantasies. To her surprise, she discovers that Dash Corbin, Carson s best friend, is dominant and has been attracted to Joss for many years. The plot drags at times, and the conflict which is almost entirely centered on various characters recovering from Carson s death is somewhat contrived, but Joss and Dash are pleasant enough that rooting for their happiness comes naturally, and blazingly intense sex scenes will keep readers turning pages. This will satisfy fans of the racier passages in Banks s previous novels as well as those looking for a little kink in their erotica.

Letting go
Well I really tried to embrace the characters and the storyline but found myself wanting to "let go". I found Joss whiney and hard to connect with and totally fixated on her dead husband. I did not think Dash over reacted at all ... Chapters and chapters of repetition of how she loved her dead husband even while she was making love to another man! That would make me insane. It did. Just when I thought I couldn't read it anymore Dash finally snapped and said what was true... Finally some fierceness and emotion!! Did not last long though the book became unexciting and had me shaking my head again in no time.... I really wanted to like it maybe it will speak to others. I need more tension and excitement...more character drama and buy in... Maybe kylie will provide more.... Here's hopin
Meh.
Meh. The storyline was very superficial and trite. The writing felt hastily thrown together and immature. The character development was almost non-existent. Overall a very dull read.
YUCK
I got the book because I LOVE a good dominant/submissive story but OMG Dash was the worst dom I've ever read. What kind of Dom is that mushy/flaky. YUCK
