Life - Dream or Reality

What is life? This has been an age-old question for philosophy as well as science. There is also a related question about reality: what is real and what is unreal? Ancient philosophies like Vedanta assert that there is only one reality and that is Brahm (or God), everything else is unreal. (The doctrine of maya : What we see does not exist, what exists we cannot see.) There has been considerable discussion about the reality of life even in Christianity. We all know that dreams are unreal. We generally associate dreams with sleep but there are also daydreams that are just imagination. Every fiction is a daydream of the author. Fiction by definition is unreal. If life is unreal is it a dream? If it is a dream who is dreaming? This book discusses these questions and the inter-relationship of imagination, fiction, and dream as well as the different views on reality and unreality.
