Life Goes On

“I know about the car accident.”
The six words that sent a shiver down Emily Everson’s spine. Everything she had worked for to erase those painful memories came rushing back to her all at once. She used the counter to steady herself.
“What car accident?”
After moving to a town where absolutely no one knew about her past, her plan was shattered right before her eyes. She tried to control her emotions, but it showed easily on her face.
“Emily, I wanted to tell you sooner, but I was afraid that I would ruin your day, week, or even your whole year.”
