Even hot messes deserve love, according to this twinkly romantic comedy. A frequently unemployed baker with ADHD, Lizzie has trouble with schedules and structure. She also has one ironclad rule—only one hookup per guy. Rake is an emotionally bruised Australian whose charm persuades Lizzie to bend that rule just once, and now this baker has a bun in the oven, which seismically upends both singles’ lives. Author Mazey Eddings’ obvious affection for her characters and their quirks makes it impossible not to love Lizzie, a well-meaning young woman struggling to understand what being a “responsible adult” means. We were rooting like crazy for the young couple to figure out that two broken pieces sometimes make a whole.
