Change won’t happen until rock bottom

Like Erik’s book before, Logan’s is a carnival ride of emotional trauma and dysfunction. And also like that first book, this one is not for the faint of heart. Please note that there are scenes and subject matter that may be difficult to read or even be triggering to some. I loved that Ally inspired Logan to want to be better and he helped to create the opportunity for her to flourish. But with all that light and positivity came all the self-doubts and other tortuous thoughts that nearly destroyed them. As someone who’s survived family members’ addictions, I completely understand that a lot of times a change won’t happen until rock bottom, but it still hurt my heart to watch. The one thing I wish is, there’s a couple of characters that I wanted to see held accountable for the parts they played in making Logan’s spiral worse. I realize it was necessary to get him to where he is in the end, but I didn’t like that they escaped the consequences for being the keys to unlock his demons from their cages. Now that we’ve seen some of the seeds that have been planted for the next pairing, I can’t wait to get my hands on the book to follow this.
