A quiet bedroom community of Denver, USA in the spring of 1998 is a funny place to find a modern Babylon, but when you're a member of one of the Afterliving Youth of the Court of Spring Castle, it's just another Night at the theatre.

Vampires, Werewolves, Sorcerers, Necromancers and Interndimensional Mercenaries now all call the area home, in one way or another. The county has a new Sherrif, the local strip-club has a questionable new owner, and one of the hottest upscale nightclubs in the conurbation is drawing in who's-who from all over.

For Duchess Imani, Keeper Tiffany, Reaper Sharlene and Vizier Belinda, though, things are never easy, quiet, or simple. The traumas of Red Bird Road still haunt everyone. Debts are owed and called in. Politics, in the Prime Reality, the Void and the Charmlands are causing suspicion and danger at every glance.  From battlefields, to Courts, drag strips and ski-hills, a splash is being made and the ripples are felt far and wide by some of the most powerful.

A pair of "car accidents" set in motion a complex chain of events that will bring to question friendships, loves, loyalties and the costs of safety and freedom. What price is too much, and have some of the Unwilling Orphans and their friends already paid the bill?
