USA Today bestselling author Vivienne Lorret launches a charming new trilogy about three debutantes who get more than they bargained for when it comes to the mating habits of scoundrels . . .
Heiress Winnifred Humphries refuses to marry the odious man her parents have chosen. She’ll marry for love or not at all. But how does a woman know a man truly loves her? Needing answers, she sets out to discover the marriage habits of London’s aristocrats. Yet when her friends kidnap a lord for research, Winn knows they’ve gone too far. Now she’s facing a wickedly handsome scoundrel who wants revenge.
Lord Asher Holt has the perfect plan to free himself of his father’s debts. But when a trio of foolish debutantes abducts him, their scheme ruins everything! Fuming and tied to a chair, Holt overhears that one of them is an heiress. Perhaps he isn’t above a little kidnapping either.
Yet, when the heiress runs away from her own wedding and straight into his waiting carriage, Holt finds himself on an adventure he’ll never forget, falling in love with a woman worth more than any treasure. But will Winn ever believe his heart only desires her . . . and not her fortune?
Lorret (The Rogue to Ruin) launches the Mating Habits of Scoundrels series with this lively Regency romance that features not one but two semiaccidental kidnappings. Full-figured heiress Winnifred Humphries is engaged to a man she knows doesn't love her, prompting her two best friends to conduct a study into the psychology of London's eligible men. They get carried away, abducting notorious rake Lord Asher Holt for research. Asher escapes, but believes they robbed him of money that would have freed him from his villainous father. When Winn flees her wedding, she mistakes Asher's carriage as one her friends arranged for her getaway. Asher seizes the opportunity to recover his money, but his plan swiftly goes awry when henchmen sent to collect his father's gambling debts come after him, endangering both his and Winn's lives. Despite Winn's innocence and deep-seated insecurities about her body, Asher is charmed by her ability to hold her own in tense situations. Though their communication issues grow tiresome, Asher and Winn are endearingly complex characters with wit and chemistry to spare. Romance readers will be delighted.
Humour, adventure, nasty villains... All the good stuff

Lord Holt Takes a Bride by Vivienne Lorret is the first book in her new series The Mating Habits of Scoundrels. Winnifred (Winn) Humphries does not wish to marry the odious man that her parents have arranged for her to marry. In an effort to help, her well-meaning friends accidentally kidnap Lord Asher Holt having meant only to interview him. Asher is planning to leave the country to escape his nasty fathers' influence and is furious to discover that when he was released, he was also missing the funds for his trip. When Winn flees her wedding, she mistakenly hops into Asher’s carriage, and he, in a vengeful mood, ends up kidnapping her, which does not go well.
