Dell Turner grew up in London’s back alleys and gin lanes. Vowing to escape his low beginnings, he hires himself out to society’s elite. PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Sandas infuses her third Fallen Ladies "Regency" romance (after The Untouchable Earl) with plenty of modern spy novel attributes and steamy sex (including a dash of m nage) but leaves out any flavor of the historical period. Portia Chadwick and her sisters, Lily and Emma, come from genteel Mayfair stock; Dell Turner lives in the East End and earns a living doing "what others cannot. Or will not." When Lily is kidnapped by the dastardly Mason Hale, Portia and her aunt Angelique hire Dell to locate them. But Portia can't just wait for Dell to return her sister: she insists on being part of the investigation, and the more time she spends in his company, the more attractive she finds him. The steamy sensuality and intrigue will satisfy readers whose only requirement of a Regency romance is that it have a frilly dress on the cover.
