The August issue will lead us into a for many years vacated village in southern Brandenburg, the Nieder-Lausitz.

This region is known for lignite mining and precisely because of this commodity whole villages have to make way for the open pit.

136 resettlements took place in the last 100 years. These have fallen only in the Lausitz degradation final victim. Not even traces of their former existence can be found. Our "ghost village" Haidemühl will be only in 2018 finally disappeared from the map.

So it was high time for a few last photographic documentation of the last ruins in this area.

We wish you much fun on this little journey into a region where the "renewable energy" and environmental problems "apparently genuine foreign words are.
