A ballerina and a rock star...what should have been a one-night stand in Paris could be so much more. This angsty romance is one-click worthy.
No promises. No fake tomorrows. That was the plan.
Paris was supposed to be my fresh start—a place to escape my past and lose myself in dance. But even in the City of Lights, the shadows of my sister's death and my own mistakes still haunt me.
One night with Lucas Wills, a way-too-tempting rock star, was meant to be nothing more than a distraction. But when our paths cross again, I can't deny the pull between us. Lucas has his own scars, yet the way he makes me feel alive is more than I ever expected.
In a city that celebrates love, can I find the courage to embrace it, or will my past keep me dancing away?
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Nowodazkij's G-rated contemporary romance riffs on the idea of love in a world where a person can turn (in)famous overnight. The last thing American dance student Jen Harrison is looking for is romance. She's worked her whole life for the chance to study dance at a prestigious school in Paris and isn't about to get distracted by love. So when a handsome stranger rescues her from a mugger, she tells him her name is Laura. And because he doesn't want involvement either, the stranger who's really Lucas Wills, lead singer of rock group Dire Blue lies about his identity too. The two begin spending time together, and it's all very cute and fun until somebody begins leaking career-ending secrets about the duo and the Internet explodes with predictable venom. That predictability works against Nowodazkij's rather charming love story; there is zero suspense and little conflict as these two flimsy characters tough out a digital explosion of bad news. The writing and dialogue are well done, but Nowodazkij takes too few risks. (BookLife)
