Publisher Description
The series that readers are calling, "touching, funny, sweet and gut-wrenching all mixed together." By USA Today Bestselling Author, Elena Aitken!
She can’t get over the past. He's falling for a lie. Is their love strong enough to survive the truth?
With a hot new look, and an even hotter new social media career, Gwen is barely recognizable from the overweight, awkward girl she’d been the last time she spent a summer in the resort town of Cedar Springs. And that’s exactly what she’s counting on. Gwen knew there was a chance she’d run into the boy who broke her heart all those years ago, but she wasn’t prepared for the man he’d become—or the fact that he doesn’t remember her at all.
It’s been ten years since Ian McCormick has been back in town and he’s more than ready to put his family drama behind him, start a new business and maybe even have a little fun. And what better way to enjoy summer at the lake than with the gorgeous brunette he can’t stop thinking about?
It was just supposed to be a fun little experiment for her followers. A test to see if looks really do matter. Would Ian be interested the new and improved version of her after all these years?
It was perfect.
At least until all the feelings she thought were long dead, come rushing back. And once the plan is in motion, she can’t back out. With their hearts on the line, can Gwen continue to play a game that could devastate them both and destroy the only real chance at love she’s ever had?

Leaving a midway review…
So far, I don’t like the book. The main character honestly irritates me so much with her mindset. What she’s doing to Ian in my opinion is wrong. I’m really hoping there’s some sort of turnaround because so far I just don’t like her personality and I feel like the writing for the story isn’t the best. I feel like the author is just writing a story just for the sake of writing a story and there’s no actual connection Going on. I feel like she how’s the character saying and doing these things that are supposed to results in this outcome or this feeling or this emotion, and to a certain extent it does, however, there’s no connection or depth in the story at all. Reading this story it’s like watching a bad TV show. I feel like there wasn’t proper thought put into it and I feel like the main characters reason for doing it isn’t valid enough for what she’s doing.
Update: 167 pages in and it’s still bad. It’s just bad writing and a bad story. The author also does this weird thing of one person will say something and the next person just HAS TO repeat that part at the beginning of their sentence. I’m only finishing it to add a finished book for the year
Final update: that was probably the worst book I’ve read in recent history. I actually chickened out and stopped about 35 pages before the book finished. That was insufferable to read and an overall bad story. The writing wasn’t good or structured well at all and the storyline was just terrible. The conversations were terrible and I feel like you’re judging it really harshly, but it was just that bad of a book. Please save your time and avoid it.
