In LOVERS AT HEART, REIMAGINED…
Treat Braden wasn’t looking for love when Max Armstrong walked into his Nassau resort, but he saw right through the efficient and capable facade she wore like a shield to the sweet, sensual woman beneath. One magnificent evening together sparked an intense connection, and for the first time in his life Treat wanted more than a casual affair. But something caused Max to turn away, and now, after weeks of unanswered phone calls and longing for the one woman he cannot have, Treat is going back to his family’s ranch to try to finally move on.
A chance encounter brings Treat and Max together again, and it turns into a night of intense passion and honesty. When Max reveals her secret, painful past, Treat vows to do everything within his power to win Max’s heart forever—including helping her finally face her demons head-on.

Max & Treat - Wow, just wow!!!
Wow, just wow!!!
Amazingly sexy love story; Max & Treat meet and 6 weeks later neither can get the other off their minds.
Treat is back visiting his dad in Weston and runs into Max again, now he’ll stop at nothing to convince her how good they can be together.
Max is leary of Treat because of her past and the dirty look he gave her 6 weeks previous but she can’t keep her mind off him. When Max sees Treat, she runs. She’s been hurt before and refuses to be hurt again.
Will Max give into Treat’s pleas and go on a journey full of forgiveness, healing and love.
Amazing book!!!!

I read the original version and decided to re-read it now that it is re-imagined. I liked the book as I appreciate Melissa Foster’s writing. One thing she does well is tell a truth and wrap a story of romance around that truth. In this book the truth is that we should all deal with our demons and carry a little bit less junk I tomorrow relationships. Our partner maybe willing to carry the dustpan and a bottle of glue, but they shouldn’t have. Part of the hard work of relationships is compromise and discussion; it is also to put the work into making yourself more whole and strong. Two whole, strong people make for a stronger marriage. I enjoyed the premise of the story, although I began to feel that Treat and Max were overly romanticizing and dragging themselves and their issues unnecessarily long. All that changed when they both put their actions where their words had been and came back together more whole. The side characters were all charming and well placed by the author. I can hardly wait to see what happens with them and how other, smaller story branches will resolve.
Cheesy
I cannot even finish this book.
