Fabulously re-imagined fantasy!
Sixteen years ago, a teenaged pixie Sophia Larkspur left her home in Devashire to pursue a difficult life on the lam in the human world. Fae are forbidden to live amongst humans, but Sophia has her reasons. When she is forced to return to Devashire, she has to face, and work with, her ex, the infuriatingly handsome and lucky, Seven Delaney.
This slow burn, second chance, wrong-side-of-the tracks romance is richly and delectably written. I could feel the depth of Sophia’s emotions to the pit of my core. I started drooling over her sexy, suave leprechaun the moment he appeared, leaning against the fairy gate in his expertly tailored bespoke suit.
I love the original and wholly conceived rebranding of fairy and leprechaun lore, the fabulous secondary characters, and the chilling mystery component that puts Sophia and Seven in real peril. Genevieve Jack cements herself as one of my top favourite paranormal authors with this layered, emotional, and complex introduction to Devashire. She brings levity to her narrative, while quietly commenting on the harmful effects of discrimination, bigotry, and stereotyping. Lucky Me is a standalone, but there is so much content bursting out of the story that there are follow-ups that beg for their own stories to be told.
