Lucy in Real Life

12-year-old Lucy Penley lives a quiet homeschooled life.  Removed from the outside world, she spends her days lost in the pages of fashion magazines or at her sewing machine, longing to play a part in real life.  After running away to her grandmother’s, she starts real school where she learns as much about herself from her first nemesis as from her first friends. But when she inherits an enormously mysterious egg from her ancient neighbor, it becomes clear that the part Lucy is destined to play is not in this world, but far beyond. Now Lucy and her friends must summon all their hope and courage to take unprecedented risks in a journey to save the last heir to another world.
