The Racing Driver - Luigi Musso is another Monza Books multi-touch creation made for iBooks. This time we start a new series on racing drivers, with a free book on Luigi Musso, the Italian racing hero of the late 1950’s whose bright light shone all too briefly, such were the dangers of motorsport during that era. 


Author Dylan Michael tells the story of the enigmatic Italian, who in a few short years progressed from borrowed race cars to become a Maserati and then Ferrari team driver, the pinnacle of any racer’s ambition. Along the way Musso had to live up to the huge expectations of an adoring Italian public and cope with intense rivalry from team-mates Mike Hawthorn and Peter Collins. Musso’s tragic death robbed Italy of its last top-flight, championship quality Grand Prix driver and Michael’s highly researched writing reveals the extent of the career and personal pressures that may have fatally overwhelmed the Italian star on that sad day in 1958.
