If you've ever moved across town, to another city or state, you may have had to make tough decisions.  What do you save?  Throw away?   Lyrics from the Loft describes how sorting through boxes of personal history can evoke powerful memories.  Of course, a major problem with sorting old boxes involves the time, the energy.  Each item produces memories and discarding can take great deliberation, difficult decisions. The author focuses on family flashbacks,  memories of her deceased parents, a deceased brother, and special contributions from all of her children. When she locates a special box, a memory from the '70s, it sparks a stark reminder of a creative and fun period when she engaged in the craft of songwriting.  During that time, she wrote lyrics in collaboration with several music composers and copyrighted their material.  Sh also includes her private lyrics in this collection.  Finally,  the  readers are encouraged to go forth and examine their own treasured memories, to find pleasure in new hobbies and activities and to open up their own Lofts.
