When Alex's father makes plans to leave his beloved Scottish Highlands for a better life in the New World, he convinces his friends Matthew Drummond and Jacob Stewart to follow. Once Matthew and Jacob agree, Benjamin further concocts a scheme to arrange the marriages of their future children to keep their wealth among the three families. Hence, the perfect match.

Meet Rachel, petite, beautiful, and headstrong, who believes that any differences with her husband can be settled under the covers, while Alex MacKenzie, tall and handsome, is more than happy to do Rachel's bidding.
