“Few things are more fun than an enemies-to-lovers romance, and Warren delivers…a truly satisfying romance.”—The New York Times Book Review on The Last Man on Earth
After a devastating love affair broke her heart–and derailed her career–it’s taken Brie Grayson a while to recover. Now she’s back at a top New York City law firm, determined to rise above it all. And she’ll have to—especially when a major new client turns out to be the boy who made the seventh grade a living hell.
Luxury hotel magnate Maddox Monroe has clawed his way out of the ruins of his former life to build an empire. He knows what he wants and how to get it. But he couldn’t have anticipated reconnecting with the girl of his boyhood fantasies—all grown up and more alluring than ever.
But once Maddox breaks through Brie’s barriers to find the fiery woman hidden underneath, will lust lead to something lasting? Or will past heartache and fresh betrayals tear their future apart before it even has a chance to begin?

It's unfortunate that this shallow third book in Warren's Graysons contemporary series (after The Man Plan) comes too late for summer vacation, since it would be an ideal beach read. Handsome billionaire Maddox Monroe is the kind of guy who calls a woman a "creamy little cheese" in front of professional colleagues. Brie Grayson is the kind of woman who willingly accepts that treatment in exchange for making partner at her high-powered New York law firm. It's hard to get too emotionally involved with these players, especially once Warren's fans realize how much their scenario mirrors the setup of her 2015 Regency romance, The Bedding Proposal. Maddox, armed with all the social and financial power in their situation, tells Brie he's going to have sex with her. She mocks his arrogance. Soon thereafter, she capitulates to his relentless advances, overwhelmed by lust. The plot is a slight thing, and it occurs mostly in the last few pages. But the intervening encounters are high-octane erotic, and the details of Maddox's one-percenter lifestyle are luscious.
