Publisher Description
Hope Roberts has a strict No Cowboys Allowed policy. Between raising her daughter, running her business, and trying to settle into her new ranch, Hope has no room for romance—especially when it comes to cowboys. What she needs is someone to help fix her ranch. But the only person to respond to her ad is the one man Hope still blames for her husband’s death…
In Wishing River, Dr. Dean Stanton is pretty much a legend. Cowboy, doctor, heir to his family’s ranching empire—everyone knows and loves him…with the exception of Hope. But Dean doesn’t trust a complete stranger to keep Hope and her daughter safe. And despite their troubled past, he’s still the best cowboy for her job.
Bit by cautious bit, Hope’s little family of two is making room for the man she once thought of as her enemy. Until one day, Dean looks like the perfect exception to her “no cowboys” rule. But he’s been keeping a secret from her that could destroy their newfound family…
Each book in the Wishing River series is STANDALONE:

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
James charms in her fourth return to tiny Wishing River, Mont. (after Wishing for a Cowboy). Widow Hope Roberts balances raising her nine-year-old daughter, Sadie, with running her naturopathic clinic and fixing up the ranch she inherited from her late husband's grandparents and has no idea how to run. For years, she's blamed local physician (and heir apparent to a huge ranch) Dean Stanton for her husband's untimely death—but she's got her facts wrong. Meanwhile, Dean has worshipped Hope from afar for years, and, after her sole ranch hand quits, he offers to help out. Their enemies-to-lovers romance blossoms with the full support of Hope's daughter, but Dean's avaricious father doesn't think Hope is good enough for his son and throws obstacles in their path. James convincingly illustrates the couple's deep love and individual dilemmas, making it easy to root for them to find their happy ending. She also finds plenty of room for laughs amid the more serious subject matter of grief and healing, including a scene wherein Dean describes performing open-heart surgery on an American Girl doll. This appealing love story adds a sparkling new dimension to Wishing River's small community.

Wow. I couldn't put it down and was sorry to see it end. The characters are so full of real emotions and so believable.
Loved this amazing story
This book was heartbreaking, sweet, funny, sexy & just outright amazing. As we follow Dean & Hope’s story we learn so many sad things about each of them. Both have broken hearts & both are doing their best to be friends as their feelings grow for each other. Both have suffered loss & both are struggling to live up to dreams & promises made. As their relationship slowly grows secrets come out that are devastating & side track them a time or two but love is the rope that binds them together. I loved Sadie, she was sweet, funny & spunky & wore her love for Dean on her sleeve. Hope was a work in progress as she continued to move forward from her losses, her love for her daughter & family beautiful. Dean was hardworking, dedicated, loyal & loved Hope & Sadie to the depths of his soul, as he proves to her by walking away from his inheritance & his father. Definitely recommend. I voluntarily read this book for an honest review.
