Malice in the Air

She’s already lost one friend. She refuses to lose another — not to malice, not again.

Nineteen year old Alice Brickstone has survived hunters, secrets, and betrayal, but nothing prepared her for this kind of grief. One friend is slipping away, another is barely holding on, and the fractures in siddha society are widening faster than she can keep up.

Someone is exploiting the chaos left behind by the university’s closure — someone who knows Alice’s history, her training, and every vulnerability she’s tried to bury. Her friends are falling apart, and she can’t find the words to pull them back together. She’d settle for one crisis at a time, but apparently that’s too much to ask.

From the snow-shadowed peaks of Colorado to the industrial labyrinth of London Gateway, from the neon-lit streets of Taipei to Taiwan’s dangerous, heavily armed coastlines, Alice is forced into a maze of half-truths, buried loyalties, and threats that refuse to stay hidden. And the deeper she digs, the clearer the pattern becomes: the danger isn’t just external. It’s personal. It’s calculated. And it’s closing in.
To protect her friends — and herself — Alice must confront the secrets they’ve kept from each other, the ones she’s kept from them, and the ones none of them know they’re carrying.

Fans of Holly Black, Maggie Stiefvater, and Melissa Albert will be drawn to the atmospheric danger, fractured loyalties, and mystery-first storytelling — all without a heavy romance subplot.

The air shifts. Someone who’s been watching all along is finally ready to make their move.

Perfect for readers who crave YA Urban Fantasy with sharp twists, supernatural intrigue, and young heroes pushed far beyond their limits.
