Maman’s story

A family saga that begins in Iran in 1933, tracing the intertwined

lives of a boy and a girl whose paths ultimately converge in marriage

and migration. Their tale expands into the story of a family of

fifteen, uprooted from an urban life in Tehran and transplanted to

the rugged demands of dairy farming in Canada.

As they struggle to adapt to a new land, language barriers and

personal loss fracture the family, culminating in the father?s return

to Iran. Left behind, the mother must raise the children alone,

facing isolation, cultural displacement and economic hardship.
