Publisher Description
In 1972, glad to have finished High School in Canada, the author left for a six month tour of New Zealand and Australia. He ended up spending 2.5 years in the Australian Outback. After that he headed up into Southeast Asia and took the hippie trail overland before returning home four years later. This book is the story of the countries he visited and the people he met along the way. It has over 500 full colour photographs of interesting places like Burma and Nepal. The book is a time machine of budget travel in the 1970s. If you like travel stories from the time before the internet and cell phones, motorcycle adventure travel, and tales of trekking to Mt. Everest Basecamp you will enjoy this book.

Loved it! A real 70’s travel adventure.
Vern, you provided me with a big smile or an out loud “WHAT!” on every page. I really enjoyed reading a true life travel story from the 70’s. What a different time. The storytelling format with your photos made me feel like I was right there. It was also my first apple book read from my tiny phone. Worked out quite well.
Overall, what an accomplishment and thank you for the fun read!
