Luke Payne's career playing bad guys in B-movies had stalled. He traveled to Provence with a stack of scripts looking for his breakout role.
They meet and fall in love. Thirty years pass before the happily ever after.

Marianes bad editing
Whoever edited this book did a terrible job. The author obviously wrote the book as if she was telling it to a stranger and then changed her mind and rejigged it to sound like she was telling it to her daughter......and clearly didn't catch all of the changes that should have been made to make this transformation. I found it very distracting and irritating. Additionally this change really seemed contrived. The story line is ok though
