Mark Twain

Mark Twain or Samuel Clemens (that was his real name) was a great writer, a true humorist and the first of America's most successful literary figures. He rose on the wave of the Civil War, together with the whole country achieved unprecedented success, wrote great novels (for example, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, today this book is read exactly the same as a hundred years ago - voraciously). Mark Twain's life included both great achievements and significant commercial failures. He was forced to spend the end of his life in Europe and the Bahamas. But he still got out of the financial hole, bought himself a house and began to lead a normal life, fighting heart disease. He died from the heart. On the day of his death he was 74 years old. But America still remembers its famous son.
