A sometimes tough read
“ Watching” the rise and fall of Martin Eden kept me interested but , at times, ( like Martin) I read hoping something would grab me.
At times it did, particularly his romance with Ruth and the clash of the two levels of society.
And at other times, I’m afraid it was either ‘above me’ or too drawn out for its own good.
