A short murder-mystrey novel by Simms. It portrays a criminal, Martin, who seduces and kills a woman, Emily, in order to marry another woman, Constance. Martin gets killed eventually as he tries to stab Constance when she visits him in prison. Full of suspense and drama, it is considered one of the finest works on criminal psychology. Superb!
