Publisher Description
She’s never had a no-strings fling. He’s never had anything else. But maybe this time will be an exception?
After a year of mourning her fiancé, Alexis Parker has worked hard to rediscover what she wants out of life. Fresh out of the military and back stateside, her brother offers her a marketing job at the Stag Distillery. Ready for a new challenge, Alexis agrees to accompany her new co-worker Jake Cooper on a Stag cross-country promotional tour. He may have an infamous playboy reputation, but Alexis is surprised to find out that there is more to him than meets the eye. And she likes what she sees. . .
Jake promised Alexis’s brother that he’d be an absolute gentleman. Of course, that was before he and Alexis hit the road, and they both agree that what Alexis’s big brother doesn’t know won’t hurt him. The plan: to keep their fling confined to the RV, and everything will go back to normal once they head home. Things progress in ways neither of them could have imagined, and Jake realizes that he and Alexis make a perfect mix. Can he convince her that he’s ready to shake things up and give true love a shot in Maybe for You?
“Nicole McLaughlin is a wonderfully fresh voice in contemporary romance—sweet, sexy, and immensely satisfying.”—Lauren Layne, New York Times bestselling author
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
McLaughlin's satisfactory third Whiskey and Weddings contemporary (after Maybe This Time) features Army veteran Alexis, who's grieving the death of her fianc , and Jake, part owner (with Alexis's brother, Dean) of Kansas City's Stag distillery. During her final year of deployment in Italy, Alexis and Jake carry on a long-distance friendship, and upon her return, Alexis accompanies Jake on a two-week festival tour of making sales and seeking new contracts. Jake is determined to shed his playboy reputation and considers Dean's sister off-limits; Alexis still mourns Nathan. However, when sparks fly, both agree to a fling before Alexis takes a CIA job in Virginia. An unexpected pregnancy, despite precautions, brings their affair into the open. Readers may feel frustrated by the artificial obstacles to Alexis making a commitment despite her advancing pregnancy: she's certain that Nathan's death means she's not meant to have a family, and she worries that Jake is only staying out of obligation, despite evidence to the contrary. A tender subplot featuring Alexis's ongoing caring relationship with Nathan's family in Atlanta adds substance to this light but enjoyable story.

Friends to Lovers
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher through NetGalley to read in exchange for a fair review. Maybe For You is the third book in Nicole McLaughlin’s Whiskey Weddings Series. The hero in this book and the other two books are co-owners of a small batch distillery. Alexis Parker lost her fiancé in a helicopter crash shortly before their wedding. She’s spent the past year in Italy fulfilling her commitment to the army and has now returned home unsure of her place in the world. Jake Cooper one of her brothers partners has become a good friend over the course of that year listening to her hopes and fears and letting her move through her grief at her own pace. Jake too has been struggling feeling left out in the decision making process for the distillery and unappreciated in his role as marketing director. With both of them needing some space from family and friends Alexis tags along with Jake as he embarks on a promotion and marketing tour and their friendship turns into something more ... Jake is handsome and charming but not one to be tied down or is he? Keep a box of Kleenex handy. Fairly steamy. Publishing Date August 28, 2018 #MaybeForYou #NetGalley #stmartinspress #nicolemauthor
Love Nicole McLaughlin’s books
I truly loved this book, the emotions this book brought were amazing. Alex having finished her last tour with the army she’s home to regroup before starting a new job. Jake is feeling down because he’s not being taken seriously at his job or in his family. Their working together on a tour to promote Jake &his buddies Whiskey brings them together with a surprising outcome. Alex is still grieving the loss of her fiancé just a month before their wedding, so she’s blindsided when she develops feelings for Jake. Jake is nervous about his feelings for Alex because he doesn’t think he’s worthy & Alex is his best friend & partner’s little sister. They have a surprise that finally makes them face their feelings & Alex finally realizes that Jake is her future. This book has become my favourite of the series & I definitely recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed this book from the publisher through Net Galley.
