Memory Games: A Short Story

On the morning after his seventh birthday, Skyla gives her son a gift without his knowledge. Also, without his consent.

She has all his painful memories excised from his brain.

She considers it the best gift of all. The memory of a perfect childhood.

But no one could possibly gift something that simply does not exist. At least, not without unfortunate consequences.
