"Bursting with humor, grand (and small!) gestures guaranteed to make you swoon, Holiday elevates the classic small-town rom-com." -Entertainment Weekly
Eve Abbott has a problem—actually, make that a lot of problems. And they're all going to get worse the moment her toes hit the sand in Matchmaker Bay. Once a blissful summer escape, now the tiny town just reminds Eve of loss. Inheriting her aunt's beloved Mermaid Inn is the only reason Eve is coming back. She's definitely not ready to handle nosy neighbors, extensive renovations, or the discovery that a certain heartbreaker still lives down the street ...
Police Chief Sawyer Collins always does the right thing, even when it costs him everything. Like Evie. He's spent the past ten years trying to forget her—to forget how right she felt in his arms, to forget the pain in her eyes the day she left. The last thing he expects is to see her back in town or to find that the spark between them is as strong as ever. Sawyer knows this is his only chance to prove that his feelings have always been real ... before Eve turns tail and leaves for good.
Includes the bonus novella Meant to Be by Alison Bliss!
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Robyn Carr fans are sure to fall in love with Jenny Holiday’s warm, quirky community of Moonflower Bay. Practical librarian Eve Abbott loves making lists—and she’s got a plan for renovating her late great-aunt’s inn and selling it within a year. What’s not on the agenda? Rekindling her romance with Sawyer Collins, her teenage sweetheart. But the meddling residents of their small town have plans of their own. Holiday’s made-up Canadian beach town is as much a character in this book as Eve and Sawyer, and we love, love, love Holiday’s ability to breathe life into her secondary characters.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Holiday (One and Only) enchants with the sunny second-chance love story that launches her Matchmaker Bay series. After spunky librarian Eve Abbott's beloved great-aunt dies, she inherits the kitschy Mermaid Inn in the quaint beach town of Moonflower Bay, Canada. Eve fled town in heartbreak a decade earlier and has no desire to return, but her great-aunt's will stipulates that Eve can't sell the inn unless she runs it herself for at least a year. Honorable, dedicated Moonflower Bay police chief Sawyer Collins has always put others before himself, from taking care of his younger sister to telling a well-intentioned white lie to keep Eve, his high school sweetheart, from prioritizing their young relationship over her dreams of higher education. When Eve comes back to town, their connection reignites. Holiday ratchets up the sexual tension every time the pair are thrown together, making it easy for readers to believe Sawyer's realization that this time he won't be able to let Eve go. This sweet contemporary romance is sure to win readers' hearts. This edition contains a novella by Alison Bliss, not seen by PW.
