Midas Crackenberry's Cat

Midas Crackenberry was what most people would call a mean old man. His heart, if he had one, was as hard as the glass from which he swigged generous portions of whiskey. But on this stifling summer day, he was on a collision course with something new. Something that terrified him more than the Grim Reaper, that would send him into fits of rage. Something for which he could not have been less prepared. And it changed his life, his very being, in fact, forever. And he loved it.
