A haven of last resort for Saxon Lake's neighbors.

Herbalist and small-town sleuth Bryony Taylor finds herself with a new case when a distraught wife comes to her, asking for help finding her missing husband. When Bryony does a little digging, she discovers that Sadie's husband mysteriously left his brokerage firm to work for a ski resort developer who's trying to clear out the residents of Bard Creek Canyon.

The plot thickens when Sadie's home is ransacked, and Bryony suddenly has a new houseguest. Sadie seems to fit right in with Bryony's quirky friends and her small menagerie of animals. But the more Bryony and her boyfriend, Saxon Lake's sheriff, dig into the mystery of Sadie's disappearing husband, the more questions arise about just what he was into and what Sadie might be hiding.

Bryony must move quickly to solve this mystery before everyone in Bard Creek Canyon ends up homeless.
