Miranda Jones, Book 3. Conviction

Miranda and Oliver are twins, separated at birth. One grew up in Australia and the other in Scotland. They discovered each other by chance and for a short time basked in their new found relationship. But that ended when Oliver was arrested. His crime? He is accused of killing of 13 homeless vagrants.
The shock of it sends Miranda spiralling into a drunken abyss. Her new husband, Joel, tries desperately to help her come to terms with it. 
They move out of Miranda’s family home and relocate in Joel’s city apartment. While Oliver languishes in prison Miranda tries to take stock, but another shock waits her when she learns of Joel’s involvement in the matter. It could break the tenuous relationship they have. Was it a coincidence that these two men came into her life almost at the same time.
The investigation takes on many twists and turns and it becomes apparent there is insufficient proof to convict Oliver. The police are stumped and the search for evidence falls on Miranda’s shoulders. But as time passes, it seems this murderer could escape the charges and come for them.
Peter Fawcett, whom she once loved, again disappoints her by defending Oliver, causing Miranda to tell him some historical truths about his father and her natural mother and the terrible aftermath of that. Could this killer be his brother? Oliver torments them from prison, blaming Miranda for trying to kill Joel, and even Peter now struggles to help him. He finds himself hated by those nearest him and deeply regrets his decision to defend Oliver. 
An old enemy of Miranda’s resurfaces and attempts to destroy the only place left to find the ‘smoking gun’ but at this crucial time she must try not to lose all hope. Can they deal with the villainous Oliver and put an end to his reign? 
A deathbed confession letter unravels all the secrets and lies. Finally, Miranda gets the closure needed on this harrowing episode of her life.
