Modern French Painters

Modern French Painters by Jan Gordon, illustrates Modern Art (circa 1923) by first outlining its foundational elements. From there, Gordon examines the Impressionist works of Vincent Van Gogh, Renoir and Gauguin, followed by examples of "modern realism." Edgar Degas was often associated with the Impressionist movement, but thought of himself more as a modern Realist.
