Mother's Arms

When the dead rise to meet you
Vikka spent thirty years making sure the past stayed buried exactly where she left it — on the other side of the country. But when her estranged mother dies, one small cardboard box arrives and she can't bring herself to open it. Or throw it away.
By day, Joon works in the library with Vikka, by night in his parent's restaurant. He knows she likes him well enough, but also knows something is holding her back. No matter, he knows how to wait and has patience to spare.
A slow-burn, quietly eerie story about grief, inheritance, and the terrifying relief of finally being seen.
