Mr. Stubbs's Brother

James Otis Kaler, known under pen name James Otis, was an American journalist and author of children’s literature, published over the 150 books for young readers.

 “Mr. Stubbs's Brother” is a children’s novel, first published in 1882. Together with “Toby Tyler or Ten Weeks With the Circus” and “Old Ben, The Friend of Toby Tyler and Mr Stubb's Brother”, the book is entered in Toby Tyler trilogy.  The series represents the adventures of a ten-year-old orphan who runs away from a foster home. The classical example of “bad boy” novels became famous among American boys and girls who dreamed of running away to searching adventure.
