Sam had a bad habit that his dad wanted to break him of.  So he took his son to the next plantation and asked him to pick out a slave girl for his birthday.  The Civil War was going on so just traveling from one plantation to the next was dangerous due to the hostile Indians on the frontier of Texas.  Sam picked out the most expensive young woman of the bunch who happened to look white. The plantation owner didn’t want to sell her but finally agreed to a high price.  The slave girl liked Sam and they had a good time getting to know each other.  This short story has some explicit scenes so is suitable for mature readers.
