“My young days” is a novel for children illustrated by Paul Konewka (5 April 1841 – 13 may 1871), who was a German silhouette cutter and draftsman. He became famous by his works in children books. His most important works: illustrations to Shakespeare's Midsummer Night's Dream (Heidelberg 1868) and Falstaff (Lahr 1870). Konewka's works were appreciated because they are "by rich imagination, brilliant humor and fine sense of form distinguished” (Meyers encyclopedia).
