First published in 1886, "Mythical Monsters" is an essential exploration into all beasts fabled, fabricated, fantastical, and fanciful, from across the world, including the Chinese and Japanese Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix, and the spate of Sea Serpents sighted off the 19th century New England coast.

A geological surveyor by trade, English author Charles Gould was rather more interested in the strange ornithological specimens he collected on his journeys around the world.
