Fallon Community Health Plan will award, as a matching grant, up to $20,000 to the Whitin Community Center through its Community Benefits Program. This funding will support a new pilot program, The Boost Program, which will provide an opportunity for at-risk youth to learn about the importance of exercise and healthy eating. "We designed this program to address the needs of at-risk youth ages 12-17 who will be impacted by the reduction of after-school clubs and activities, as well as athletic programs, in the school support system," said Brett MacGowan, outreach director, Whitin Community Center, in a prepared statement. "We want to provide children who may fall through the cracks the ability to lead healthier lifestyles, have higher self-esteem and remain out of trouble."
