Alex has abandoned the spy life and everything she has ever known in order to run away with Ben, a completely normal boy who has never been associated with the spy life. As they move from city to city, the institution is closing in on them. She knows no one, especially not her ex-fiancé James, will let them get very far.
The list of people Alex can trust is getting shorter every day. Ben has been reported a missing person. If they can just make it past Alex's 18th birthday - the day she was supposed to marry James, her fellow institution spy - they will be in the clear. But now, with both the institution and the raemen wanting them dead, Alex doubts they can make it that far.
