Sometimes crime lives where you least expect it. Evie's family is not what is seems. To the outside world the Melbourne-based Stockboroughs are respectable old-money pillars of the community. But behind the scenes, Evie's childhood is a confusing mess of having everything and nothing. Violated, bewildered and pregnant at 14, Evie walks out of the family home, gives birth to her daughter and tries to make a go of life with Skylar's father, a cruel abuser who eventually leaves her. 

Newly single, Evie inches out of her shell and discovers a rich and colourful world. She moves to tropical Queensland where life, for a while, is good. 

However, the Stockboroughs are not as good at keeping secrets as they thought they were. As Evie begins to unravel the enormity of their crime, she puts herself in danger while never suspecting Sky's life would be threatened too.
