The expedition to Poland to get medication for a deadly disease was a success. A small team of daredevils, reinforced by an additional member, returns to the Russian Federation territory. Almost immediately after crossing the border, they are attacked by soldiers of the self-proclaimed Citizen Army, which on its own accord maintains order in human settlements, far from the center.

Xenia decides on a risky maneuver. She lures the attackers away from her companions, to facilitate them to escape the pursuit. Members of a traveling circus find a seriously injured girl and take her with them.

Meanwhile, after many adventures, Urunde, Kola, Klimiec and the Polish intelligence captain reach Smorodowo. They learn that their crazy, almost suicidal mission should not have taken place at all, and that drugs for the blood disease should be carefully hidden from the authorities...
