Heart-wrenching!
Unfortunately, lots of suffering for the hero 😢
I loved the author’s use of archaic words; expanded my vocabulary exponentially 🤓
Having read many, many historical romances, it was jarring to read about a female being literally swept off her feet or having her hand grabbed/held so often, without major reactions (Romantic but didn’t feel authentic to the period)
The conversations were strange, too. Often the last sentence would be a non-sequitur 🤔
