Publisher Description
The New York Times–bestselling memoir from “powerful influences” NOFX “is a ‘must own' for anyone who ... cherishes what is left of Punk and Rock ‘n' Roll (Joan Jett).
The candid, hilarious, shocking, occasionally horrifying, and surprisingly moving tell-all autobiography of punk legends NOFX in their own words. Alongside hilarious anecdotes about pranks and drunkenness and teenage failures—featuring the trademark NOFX sense of humor—the book also shares the ugliness and horror the band members experienced on the road to becoming DIY millionaires. Fans and non-fans alike will be shocked by stories of murder, suicide, addiction, counterfeiting, riots, bondage, terminal illness, the Yakuza, and pee ... lots and lots of pee.
Told by each of the band members (and two former members), NOFX looks back at more than thirty years of comedy, tragedy, and completely inexplicable success.
“If you need a little history lesson on how all this shit started, and what the true meaning of being punk rock is, I suggest you read this book now! Insanely funny, disturbingly honest, and delivered straight from the heart.” —Fletcher, Pennywise
“Punk lit's equivalent to Mötley Crüe's debauched autobiography The Dirt.” —Austin Chronicle
“The biggest surprise may be how sincere the [band members] are. In the beginning, you'll be glad these people weren't your friends, but by the end you'll wish they were.” —San Diego City Beat
“Fucking gnarly. And great!” —Billie Joe Armstrong, Green Day

One of my top reads ever.
Wow.
All Killer No Filler
I went into this book not knowing too much about NOFX despite being a huge Lagwagon fan. I feel like an idiot. I didn’t know about Fat Wreck Cords or any of that. My head was in the gutter. Boy am I glad I read this book now. I love the history of music I listen to. I didn’t know NOFX well coming into this book BUT I knew the music well from bands like Lagwagon, Screeching Weasel, Millencolin, etc. Shane Told talked about the book with JT from Hawthrone Heights on the LSS podcast and of course he interviewed Fat Mike, and now I’ve finally read the book. Fat Mike and Smelly’s stories were the best and were told with great and funny detail with Melvin and Hefe seeming like real good dudes too.
This is a must read for punk rock fans, I can’t express that enough, but in general if you want to read something different and venture into a different path whether that be story telling or music, then you should read this too.
While I’m typing this, Screaming for Change is playing in the background.
Rock on!
Interesting and entertaining!
Very entertaining. Amazing these guys are still around and still awesome! Love the chapter by chapter style. Really seemed to give you an idea of the different perspectives. Some good life advice in there too!
