As a mother of two, I read children’s books daily. But where are the books that don’t display typical gender roles? As a Degree student focusing on English Literature and Sociology, studies show one thing: we aren't promoting enough growth in our little ones regarding breaking gender barriers. Let’s change that! Not Just a Princess tells the story of a young girl who, during a game of dress-up, tries on many career uniforms. Yet, in the end, she discovers being herself is always the best choice. Her future is full of possibilities, as she is truly not just a princess! Let's take a new perspective and show our little girls they can be anything, including themselves!
