Publisher Description
A victim without a name. A crime the police can't find.
Corporal Faryn Steel's first job is to find her victim's identity. A woman's body in a field next to a 12 gauge promises to be an open and shut case. But every clue leads to a new mystery.
From the murder to rapes to home invasions and missing shoes . . . Nothing leads to the victim's identity. Without that one basic fact, Faryn may not have a case.
At the same time, Faryn has to deal with her own stalker, plus an ex boyfriend, people sticking their noses into her alternative lifestyle, and her longing desire to soak in a hot bath eating spicy chicken wings.
Customer Reviews
Engaging story, intriguing characters, hard to put down.
As someone who often guesses endings of movies, show and novels, this book left me pleasantly surprised. Lorne Oliver crafts an excellent plot filled with intensity, imagination and a feeling that I wouldn’t want to meet his villains in real life. Oliver takes an unusual approach as a male author of writing a first person narrative of a female protagonist, leaving us to follow the point of view of a unique character. This story grabs you, twists you up and inspires real emotional investment in the characters. Even if indie mystery is not your thing, I urge you to read this book.
