Publisher Description
Shivering by her broken-down car at midnight, she’s relieved when a passer-by finally stops and offers her a ride. But her heart pounds as she hears the locks click shut. They’re going the wrong way. Rooted to the spot with fear, she looks into his dark eyes, as he laughs wildly…
When a car belonging to Black Rock Falls’ much-loved bartender Maisy Jones is found abandoned on an ice-covered road outside of town, Sheriff Jenna Alton and her deputy David Kane are called in. The exhaust has been tampered with, which can only mean one thing: someone wanted Maisy stranded on that isolated road…
Finding a red backpack on the same perilous stretch of highway, Jenna hopes it will contain clues to Maisy’s whereabouts. But the debit cards inside belong to local teaching assistant, Billy Stevens. He didn’t show up for work that day. Billy too has vanished into thin air.
Jenna needs to find Maisy and Billy fast, but her frantic search only throws up another missing person. Canvassing the small town festooned with Christmas lights, Jenna has the impossible task of tracking down a twisted murderer plucking victims from their everyday lives and leaving no trace.
Almost giving up hope, she makes a sickening discovery in the church at the center of town, one that sends shockwaves through the tight-knit community. Everyone is afraid to let their loved ones out of sight. But how many more innocent lives must be lost before Jenna can catch the killer among them?
Perfect for fans of Lisa Regan, Melinda Leigh and Kendra Elliot, Now You See Me is an addictive crime thriller from USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author D.K. Hood that will have your heart racing from the very first page.

Five-Star Serial Killer Thriller
To all of our returning readers, welcome back to Black Rock Falls; and to you newcomers, fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a murderous ride. Welcome to Murder Central, or - as the locals have come to call it, the Serial Killer Capital (of the world?).
Ah, Christmas time in Black Rock Falls. And what would Christmas be without mystery and drama? And, maybe, murder???
There’s something happening here, and what it is.... is people, seemingly random people, are disappearing into thin air. Just, poof, and they’re gone. And it’s not like they are special people: a bartender from a local bar, a student, an artist and - possibly - an entire family.
It’s up to Sheriff Jenna Alton and her husband/Deputy Dave Kane, their team and associates to try and stop another spree in this, the 18th instalment of the series. As usual, there are intertwining stories contained within the main one: a suspected drug overdose, a spectacular, multi-vehicle crash on the highway and a flirtatious television reporter (who comes and goes so quickly that I get the feeling he just might figure into future shenanigans).
Everyone is on hand as the two teams combine to investigate the disappearances - disappearances that overlap their areas - and this perp is devious, having left little in the way of clues (or so it seems).
But Jenna and Dave, Ty and Jo, Bobby Kalo and Deputy Rowley (with back up as usual from Shane Wolfe, his daughter and newly-relocated forensic pathologist Norrell) are hot on the trail. And things start to become clearer with every passing day.
The action is non-stop, culminating in an attempted kidnapping and a high-speed car chase with unimaginable consequences. And you won’t believe the final outcome.
Building on the characters that have populated the previous books in this series, and adding to each character’s back story, DK Hood continues to bring the goods.
