Nubia Santomás - The Lonely Bird

Nubia Santomás is a 14 and a half years old and is ‘sort of’ engaged to Paul Duke Junior, her twice-removed 22-year-old cousin, who is very much in love with the beautiful, sharp and strong-headed girl and wishes to convince her to be married after her 15th birthday.


“Uncle Elias, her name is Maríe Louise Blanco – keep that in mind – and as always, you are sitting on your brain, because she is family! She is the mother of your children, grandmother of Paul and Sol, your grandchildren. When my brother marries Sol and I marry Paul, Marìe Louise will be an important member of our family – just as Mother is!” Nubia told Marìe Louise’ ex-husband, as she heard him putting derogatory and offensive labels on his ex-wife. Nubia was sticking her neck out on behalf of Paul’s grandmother, because she is a family-loving girl and has included Paul’s grandmother in her circle of much-loved people in her life. She couldn’t be more wrong about that. Right at that very moment, Marìe Louise was on her way to visit Paul and his family all the way from Paris, France and the purpose of her visit is not to give or be loved by Nubia – quite the opposite and the sharp-witted, loving, Santomás girl is in for the surprise of her life!
