Obesity

Obesity: Integrating Physiological, Pathophysiological and Clinical Perspectives, a volume in Elsevier's Hot Topics in Physiology series, provides coverage across a wide range of physiological disciplines, covering obesity science at a sufficient level to be understood by physiologists who may not be an expert in all subdisciplines, and with an aim of unifying physiological perspectives on obesity. Divided into three sections, the book covers causes of obesity (e.g., regulation of energy balance), the consequences of obesity (e.g., metabolic, disease risk etc.), and strategies to prevent and/or manage obesity (e.g., bariatric surgery, pharmacotherapy, and lifestyle).This volume is published in association with the International Union of Physiological Sciences (IUPS).
